I was wondering if there is a feature that allows you to set a default folder for a new secret created from a standard or custom template?
We are using Secret Server 7.0. If this feature exists please inform me how to use this feature. Thanks.

Hello Jason,
At present, there is no such feature. I can see where that might be convenient for users, so I will bring this feature request to the attention of the other developers.
There is a configuration setting to force Secrets to be contained in a folder (as apposed to the root level). Not a specific folder, but just in a folder.
thank you for your question, Scott Thycotic Support

Has this feature request been implemented yet? It would be nice to have (for example) secrets created from a Unix template placed directly into a folder setup for Unix secrets.
I do see that if you're already in that folder when you create a secret, it will pick your current folder as the location for the new secret. That's helpful, but tying a secret template to a folder would be nice as well.
Thanks!

Hi Don,
Thanks for the feedback. This feature is still in the backlog. We've had a few other requests around the ability to set the default values for Security settings, and the privileged count for password changing, and this will likely fit in with those. The default privileged account is set to be picked up for development soon, but we don't have the other items scheduled for release at this time.

Peter - we will soon be rolling out a customer feature request system that will allow you to vote on items. We aren't building it ourselves (R&D already has so much to do!!) - we are just integrating another service that will allow feature request suggestions, discussion, status updates on feature requests and voting.
Thanks for your feedback on feature requests - it is really valuable and always appreciated. Hopefully we can meet face to face again at a European show later this year.
