I turned password masking on a couple versions ago but didn't care for it, so I turned it back off. The problem is, the passwords are still masked, even with "Force Password Masking" set to "NO". It's been like this for the last couple versions of SS, including the latest version.
Also, I have "Symbols Required for Passwords" set to "NO", but it still generates passwords with symbols, which we don't want.

Jason,
The "Force Password Masking" setting in Administration>Configuration is the global, overriding setting for all your Secret Server users.
There is also a setting for the user in Tools>Preferences that will need to be turned off as well.
As for the "Symbols Required for Passwords" setting, this is to ensure the password your users enter to access their Secret Server has at least one symbol in it. This is not Secret-related at all.
For your specific needs, there is a Knowledge Base article for setting the character set for a Secret at the following URL: http://support.thycotic.com/KB/a82/changing-the-character-set-for-a-secrets-password-field.aspx
Of course, your character set would consist of only letters and numbers in order to disallow symbols.
Thanks for your questions, Scott Thycotic Support
