Secret Server

The Admin Export feature allows administrators to export Secrets to a plain text CSV file. Many of our financial customers print this export to paper and ship it to a remote location and have it stored securely in a bank vault. This is a compliance requirement in the financial industry. Note that the export will only include Secrets that the user has permission to View.

Security Measures While Exporting

The ability to export Secrets is guarded by the Administer Export permission using the Role Based Access Control (RBAC). The Admin Export Feature has additional security by requiring the user to re-enter their password to avoid someone exporting Secrets if an Administrator leaves Secret Server open in the browser. In addition, all export activity is audited with the time, date, user, and IP address for monitoring.
