Exception in KeepAliveMonitor

Hi Cal,
The purpose of the KeepAliveMonitor is to prevent the IIS application pool from recycling or timing out. I would recommend configuring your IIS application pool to not recycle or time out (see the following Knowledge Base article: http://support.thycotic.com/KB/a56/changing-iis-to-not-stop-worker-process-in-iis-70.aspx), so the KeepAliveMonitor process is no longer necessary and you will no longer receive these error messages. The KeepAliveMonitor feature can be turned off by going to Administration>Configuration within Secret Server and changing the setting for "Prevent Application from Sleeping When Idle" to "No" under the General tab.

Database setup error

Hi I have been trying to set up Secret Server on a Windows 2003 running SQL 2005, Its all patched to the required level and I get as far as step 3 and 4 where I add the machine name and user login details. I think after this it tried to download some files (According to the install notes) but shortly after I get a Database setup error
I am not going through a proxy and I have tried to find some logs to see if there are error messages but as yet I am unable to see any.
Can anyone help with this please.

Is there any way to reset a secret server administrator's password without having admin access to the server's web interface?

Load Balancing

Jonathan,
Various features of Secret Server require sticky session due to storing some user information in memory of that server. If the user were to be hitting different web servers at a time, that memory would be inconsistent between the two servers.
We currently do not have a specific timeline on roadmap to change this, however I have opened a support ticket with our product manager for you to discuss and to get a better understanding of your needs.

Load Balancing

Hi,
I've read the article on setting up load balancing for Secret Server. What features of the application place the requirement of sticky sessions? Is it on the roadmap to not require sticky sessions in a future version?
Basically, I want to run an active/active setup across two data centers (central clustered database) publishing an IP address for each data center so that we have HA in cases of maintenance windows (patching, etc.) and failures.

Web password filler for Sonicwall GUI

Good afternoon,
Was recently working with Sonicwall firewalls and wanted to bring something to your attention.
Specifically, the web filler does not work at all with the GUI. Nothing happens when clicking the bookmark. Not sure if this would be easy to fix. I would think it has something to do with the way the page is coded. (Sorry I don't have the source code, but if it is helpful I can get it) Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. On the same subject, the Secret Server web app works on the BlackBerry 10 browser, but an intentionally mobile-friendly HTML5 web app would make it even more useful.

Scheduled task discovery?

Hello,
The discovery works great for local and service accounts. As opposed to accounts associated to windows services, is it possible to discover "service" accounts associated to scheduled tasks? I can do this manually, by creating a dependency; but this does not scale well. My coworker stated he has used other tools in the past capable of discovering tasks. I appreciate your help.

Hi John,
It is possible to change the password requirements for the Generate button. You are able to create multiple password requirements and assign them to Secret Templates. To do so you will want to browse to Administration<Secret Templates and clicking Password Requirements. Here you can modify existing password policies and create new ones. After you set a policy you assign it by going to Administration<Secret Templates, then select your Template from the drop-down menu and click Edit. On this page you click Assign Password Requirements to select your new password policy.
Kind Regards

Our internal password policy is higher than the 12 characters the "generate" button creates by default. I would like to change this to match our internal password policy. Is that possible?
