I am finding on nearly all screens that error/exception handling is weak at best.
In the days of AJAX and instant feedback I find this frustrating.
Most screens provide some limited error message presented at the top of the screen but do not provide enough information to actually solve the problem.
Simply highlighting the field that is causing heartburn would be a huge improvement!
Especially as a new user of the tool things that are obvious to experienced users or your dev team are really not obvious to the newbies.
Here are some situations that took me far too long to figure out what was wrong. There are dozens upon dozens of situations like these I've managed to struggle through. With better error handling it would've been much easier.
This one took dozens of minutes to decode and decrypt what exactly the software wanted me to do. Apparently I need to hit the plus sign next to an event to "save it" even though my intuition was that I only needed to click it if and when I needed multiple events.
Creating a password template, took me a good 10 minutes of messing around to figure out which "requirement" was "invalid".
