Would this be like a new kind of Dependency (like the Windows Service, Scheduled Task, IIS AppPool) where it modifies the password on the dependencies when it expires.

For example:
You have an AD password in Secret Server and set it to expire every 30 days - it has a Dependency defined of say a Powershell script to run whenever the password is changed. 30 days is up, Secret Server changes the password on the AD account then runs the Powershell script which connects to your web service and tells it the new password.

Or am I way off here? :-D

(Feel free to call me if that is easier)

Jonathan,

Let me rephrase: If a web secret expired, the tool could initiate a webservice call as a get or a post request to change the password and update it within secret server?

There is currently a feature request to have a webmethod SecretExpire(int secretId).

If the Secret is then set to AutoChange then the password would be automatically changed (depending on the AutoChange Schedule that has been set for that Secret).

Is that what you need?

If this isnt a feature request, I would like to request the feature to change a password via a web service call. We have a web service that it would be useful that we could use secret server to change its password. Thanks!
