You can use our web services API to create a set of folders under other folders. You can download a more detailed example in C# of interacting with the Secret Server folder structure through webservices here: http://updates.thycotic.net/secretserver/support/SecretServerWebServices_Folders.zip. The Visual Studio solution contains a command line application that creates a set of child folders for each root level folder in Secret Server.

Right now it is pointed at https://secretserveronline.com. To change it to your installation, change the URL in the app.config file to your installation.

You can customize your Secret templates by clicking on "Administration", then on "Secret Templates", then on "Create New". Please let us know if you have any other questions.

We are looking to migrate to Secret Server in the very near future, but dread the process of creating hundreds of folders manually.

Can we use the web service to create our folder structure prior to the migration? My hopes are that we can create the following under every client folder, and the client folders are currently synchronized with Connectwise.

Client 1
-Applications
-Devices
-Key Cards
-Web Logins
-Windows

Client 2
-Applications
-Devices
-Key Cards
-Web Logins
-Windows

I reviewed the sample code, but it is outside my skillset. Any change there is a more detailed 'how to' or example available?

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
