Hi, we are thinking of setting up MS SQL clustering and was wondering if Thycotic has any suggestions on best practices in installing and configuring clustering.

Hello Adam,
Secret Server supports failover with SQL Mirror configuration. Best practices for a high availability instance would a primary, mirror, and witness server to automatically failover when needed. More technical details on setting up Secret Server mirroring can be found here: <a href="http://www.thycotic.com/documentation/secretserver/SQLServerMirroring.pdf">http://www.thycotic.com/documentation/secretserver/SQLServerMirroring.pdf</a>

Hello Adam,
One of the gotchas is the same Service Account needs to be running the SQL servers on all three machines (Primary, Secondary, Witness). The primary and the secondary will need to be full version of SQL Server for the mirroring capabilities but the Witness can be SQL Express.
